NCLEX PN Review Questions

It doesn’t seem that long ago that you made the monumental decision to become a licensed practical nurse. You quickly enrolled in a training program and now you find yourself close to graduating. Life is good. But before you can start your career you must take and pass the National Council Licensure Examination Practical Nurse, also known as the NCLEX PN. This exam will not be a walk in the park and you will need to prepare for it in order pass.

The NCLEX PN is a comprehensive licensure test utilized by the State Boards of Nursing to evaluate the competency of newly graduated practical nurses. It will cover almost everything you have learned in your classes and can make or break your career aspirations. Should you be nervous? Yes, but if you stay calm, focused and you properly review, NCLEX questions will be a lot easier to answer.

You might feel like you know everything there is to know about being an LPN. Sure you passed the classes and know a lot, but unlike some of the tests you took in school, you cannot really just cram the night before the NCLEX  and expect to pass. It is very important that you have some idea what will be covered on the NCLEX. Go to the National Council of State Boards of Nursing and look at the Test Plan. This will give you some great insight on what the subject matter will be as well as how the exam actually works. Combine this information with the other portions listed in this article, you should have a pretty good feeling heading in to the exam.

NCLEX Study Guides

There are dozens of NCLEX study guides that can be found in bookstores as well as online and digital e-books. These guides are great in providing you a way to review NCLEX PN questions from almost anywhere. You must be aware that there are some bad study guides out there so check the reviews online. Or take a look at the Saunders Comprehensive Review for NCLEX-PN, this book is highly recommended.

NCLEX PN Practice Tests

Once a week, at least, plan on taking a NCLEX PN practice test. This will help you immensely as you monitor which questions you got right or wrong as well helping you find your weaker points. Plus, you will have a better understanding of the format of the exam and how the questions are asked. You will also be able to see yourself getting better on the subjects which will help curb your anxiety.
